  INTEGRATED PETROLEUM SOLUTIONS
Advanced OFM Services

RPS Energy provides a wide range of technical services utilizing the popular Schlumberger GeoQuest program Oilfield Manager® (OFM). These range from mentoring and training workshops to advanced application development and in-depth project execution.

RPS Energy recognizes three levels of OFM usage.

Reservoir Engineering Applications

  • Advanced decline curve and reserve analysis
  • Reservoir performance and trend analysis
  • Waterflood and thermal optimization
  • Infill location identification
  • Recompletion/zonalisation targets
  • Data preprocessing for simulation studies

Production Engineering Applications

  • Candidate recognition for workovers and stimulation
  • Completion & Workover efficiency mapping
  • Downtime and trend analysis on artificial lift systems
  • Stimulation and workover best practice analysis

Field Operations

  • Production and injection surveillance and targets
  • Monitoring and analysis of data gathering and field automation systems
  • Practical systems for integrated field management
  • Presentation of IPM, streamline or numerical simulation results in OFM for field performance monitoring

Usage of OFM with Integrated Production Models

OFM can also be used as a near real-time monitoring system to continuously assess validity, test results and initiate updates of Integrated Production Models (IPM). This is particularly effective when a field data acquisition and/or automation system is operating in the field.

Continuous tracking of reservoir, wellbore and surface facilities performance is possible to provide quick identification of production enhancement opportunities; and feedback of improvement opportunities to the IPM model.

Mentoring and Workshops

To achieve maximum benefit field operations, an efficient and practical means of coaching company staff on the use of OFM is recommended. RPS Energy specializes in two approaches:

  • Mentoring, or one-on-one sessions
  • Workshops for larger groups.

The key to successful training is linking mentoring to the employee’s current work activities and then generating results which can be implemented in the field. To ensure achieving this, RPS Energy begins each program by working with the client to select meaningful target fields and objectives for use in workshop activities.

It is desirable that corporate OFM databases be complete enough to meet training objectives. RPS Energy can assist with advice on database structure and design for both training and routine usage in surveillance.
