ENGINEERING EXPERIENCE
Field Revitalization & Rehabilitation

PROJECT
DESCRIPTION
Cook Inlet
Alaska, U.S.A.
Waterflood performance review using advanced OFM and analytical engineering tools.
Saskatchewan
Western Canada
Performance review of a number of mature carbonate pools to assess potential for redevelopment with horizontal and multilateral wells; including assessment of revised waterflooding schemes that accommodate the natural fractures and permeability contrasts between zones.
Petisovci-Dolina
Slovenia
Evaluation of remaining reserves and secondary recovery potential for a rehabilitation project in a low permeability mature field.
Gaosheng Heavy Oilfield
China
Evaluation of EOR potential for converting an existing CSS development to steam drive. Defined data gathering requirements for a pilot test program. Assessed the baseline forecast under the current operating strategy for contract negotiations. Evaluated economics of the redevelopment project and prepared technical summaries to assist with financing. Advised operator on staffing requirements and committee structure.
Shukheir Field
Egypt
Technical and economic evaluation of a PSC farm-in opportunity for field redevelopment
Zetybai Field
Kazakhstan
Supplied production/completion engineers to work as part of a multi-disciplined team conducting a field revitalization and optimisation program.
Patos-Marinza Heavy Oilfield
Albania
Evaluation of remaining reserves and net worth, including periodic updates for funding agency. Assisted the joint venture company in developing a strategy to enhance recovery and production. Estimated primary production otpimization by workovers (re-perforating and sand clean-outs), pump otpimization and PCP applications. Recommended core & fluid testing programs. Evaluated sand production as a stimulation technique in primary cold production (CHOP) to achieve a negative skin (currently a common practice in the Lloydminster area of Canada). Reviewed thermal casing failures. Reviewed casing and tubing string design modifications under yield in thermal wells.
Lugos
France
A complete reservoir/production review to develop an optimisation strategy after the acquisition of the field from a major multinational. The analysis concluded that numerous opportunities existed to increase oil productivity including reperforation, recompletion, water shut-off and high volume lift. As a result, the need for further drilling was diminished. A few attractive infill locations were identified.
Green Canyon
Gulf of Mexico, U.S.A.
This optimization project using Integrated Production Modelling (IPM) identified significant (15%) increases in productivity from surface system balancing and potential increases from gas lift optimisation. Other recommendations addressed well failures, sand production recompletion strategy.
North Weyburn Midale Pool Western Canada Concluded that a waterflood should be implemented to increase ultimate recovery from 8 to 22%. Recommendations for well conversion, artificial lift installation, water injection facilities and fluid handling
Waterton
Western Canada
Review of completion history and well performance of a deep, highly depleted, gas condensate field in fractured carbonates. Analyzed pressure surveys and liquid loading issues. Recommended a reduction in wellhead pressures with additional compression, surface system modifications and debottlenecking. Also recommended larger tubing: annular or casing flow for some of the better wells to increase offtake and ultimate recovery.
Uzen
Kazakhstan
Field rehabilitation review including reserve estimates, simulation modelling, and workover planning. Recommended refurbishment of artificial lift, chemical injection and well servicing equipment. Proposed options to improve injection water quality and distribution and suggested a revised flood pattern
