Well Flow Performance Analysis

WEM (WELL EVALUATION MODEL) is a powerful well design and analysis tool developed by P.E. Moseley and Associates. WEM is used to model multiphase inflow (reservoir performance); and outflow (tubing performance) characteristics of the well. WEM can model horizontal wells and high volume artificial lift systems, such as gas lift, ESP and jet pumps. The program allows extensive sensitivity analysis of completion performance and skin prediction options for perforated, fracture stimulated and gravel packed wells, including an extensive perforation gun performance data base.

Wellflo is a wellbore flow simulator developed by Neotechnology Consultants. This simulator also allows RPS to model underbalanced drilling operations.

PROSPER is another advanced wellbore simulator developed by Petroleum Experts in U.K. PROSPER can model the flow of multiphase mixtures of oil, gas and water from the reservoir and through a tubing string to surface. PROSPER also models most any well type and is an integral portion of Integrated Production Modeling.
Integrated Production Modelling

GAP allows integration of surface and well performance along with Material Balance (MBAL) or GRIDDED Simulator Reservoir Performance to evaluate and optimise field depletion and surface facility system performance. This comprehensive simulation is known as an Integrated Production Model. IPM allows the matching of production history and the forecasting of different development options. Numerous complex, risked development and optimisation studies have been undertaken to yield significant production gains.

OILFIELD MANAGER® (OFM) by Schlumberger allows the integration of database resident production and reservoir data for analytical analysis. Visual surveillance of virtually any variable accommodates efficient analytical analysis of reservoir performance.

Gas Network Modelling

The IPM software mentioned above can also be used for optimisation of gas and oil gathering networks and for gasfield/gas storage development analysis. RPS Energy also licence Piper, FORGAS and Pipeflo where the problem may be less complex, or the client has an existing tool preference.

Fluid Description / Analysis

PVTP is utilized to predict the effect of process conditions on the composition of hydrocarbon mixtures. It is also utilized to generate tables of properties for complex fluid behavior for use in our well and reservoir performance analysis tools.

Scaling, Hydrate and Wax Prediction

SOLMINEQ 88 is a geo-chemical equilibrium program used to calculate scaling tendencies of oilfield waters. It can be used to predict potential scaling problems when formation water is mixed with fluids injected into the formation.

Where more sophisticated analysis is required RPS Energy's Associate Nenninger Engineering offers a suite of scale and wax deposition prediction programs.

The Schlumberger DBR Hydrate program predicts hydrate formation conditions based on gas compositional data and investigates the impact of chemical inhibition.

Well Construction

MEDCO TAS (Tubing Analysis System) is an integrated modular program analysing for tubular force, stress and fluid circulation in wellbores. The effects of weight, friction, buoyancy, well head pressure are accounted for in assessing torque and drag. The fluid circulation module analyses for single phase and multi-phase flow. Segmented pipe and coiled tubing can be modelled.

PathTracker 5.0 and PathPlanner 3D are directional well planning and tracking packages that accommodate multiple wells on a single plan and allow 3-D visualisation with unlimited targets.

Casing and tubular stress analysis is undertaken using Landmark’s WELLCAT™ sub-routines WS-Casing and WS-Tube. This package includes a suite of transient temperature simulators for drilling, circulation, production, stimulation or injection conditions. Accurate temperature modelling has allowed RPS Energy to analyse surface build-up data from HPHT gaswell tests.

Hydraulic fracture design and optimization is done with the assistance of StimPlan 3-dimensional fracture simulation software. This software can handle complex geological situations with multiple zones, modules and stress regimes.

RPS Energy works with RPS associates to perform specialised geo-technical work using a suite of software tools that includes STABView for well-bore stability and loss circulation analysis.

Completion equipment reliability can be obtained through an alliance with ExproSoft to access the WELLMASTER Data Base.

Field Development Planning & Cost Estimating

Que$torTM is a cost analysis tool used by RPS Energy in feasibility or conceptual design studies for new oil and gas projects. The system includes cost databases for all regions of the world and can be used to produce capital and operating cost estimates for both wells and facilities.

Risked Decision Analysis

PALISADES PRECISION TREE combined with @RISK, is a powerful decision tree tool, which allows any complex problems to be modeled in order to investigate probable outcomes of risk, time, cost and other parameters.
